Swedish Massage
Long, smooth strokes with the direction of blood flow aimed to bring relaxation and soften muscles. This is what most people think of when they hear massage; however, this does not mean that Swedish massage must be a light form of massage. Pressure can vary from light to firm and can be adjusted to your liking.
Deep Tissue Massage
Using pressure in specific locations on the body to relieve tension. Typically, this technique is utilized when individuals have particular problem areas of tightness. Pressure is applied and released once the tension subsides. The amount of pressure utilized is catered to clients’ tolerance and preferences.
Myofascial Release
Sustained pressure to tissue in a particular direction to release fascia. This type of massage is typically done without lotion which facilitates releasing adhesions within connective tissue. In simple terms, when your muscles have various layers that may stick together and cause pain and restrict movement; myofascial release aims to release adhesions between muscle layers to permit movement and restore range of motion.
Cupping Therapy
Using silicone cups to create negative pressure to release adhesions and lengthen muscles. Rather than pressing down with hands as in most therapy techniques, pressured suction cups lift the tissue up. This is particularly useful for individuals experiencing tight fascia/connective tissue, which can feel like your skin is very tight and it can be difficult to move.
